Meet our Officers!

Erin Finn – Tri-M President

I’m Erin Finn! I am a Senior at BHS, and President of Tri-M. I have been playing flute for seven years now, and piccolo for two. I represented Belchertown High School in the Springfield Youth Orchestra, Senior Districts Concert Band, UMASS Honor Band, Massachusetts Lions All-State Band, and the Belchertown Community Band. I am also part of my church’s music ministry. At BHS, I am a part of the Symphony Band and Wind Ensemble, as well as a Music Education Intern for Dr. Messier. In my free time I can often be found practicing or if I am at school, organizing something in the Band Room. I practically live in there! I plan to study Flute Performance and Music Education in college. A few random facts about me: I’m near-sighted, I love to listen to a capella and classical music, and Eric Whitacre is one of my favorite composers. I am also a big fan of Broadway shows, my favorite being Aladdin. I teach two Flute students, and work as a Library Page at the Clapp Memorial Library in town. I can’t wait for the year ahead!

Jillian Gummeson – Tri-M Vice President

My name is Jillian Gummeson, and I am a senior. I started playing the tuba six years ago, after playing baritone horn for a year. I have represented Belchertown High School in the Springfield Youth Orchestra, Western District Band, Massachusetts All-State Band, UMass Honor Band, and Belchertown Community Band. Outside of school, I also play piano and guitar. After high school, I plan on studying music education and tuba performance in college.

Suzanne Black – Tri-M Secretary

My name is Suzanne Black. I’m a senior, and I’m the BHS Tri-M secretary and choir representative. This is my second year in Tri-M and my third year in choir. I’m also the captain of our schools color guard. I’ve been a member of drama club since I was a freshman. Outside of school, I practice martial arts and spend a lot of time relaxing with friends and family. If I’ve learned one thing in the past three years, it’s that high school doesn’t last forever. Before you know it, you’ll be graduating and moving on to the next phase of your life. Take advantage of every opportunity presented to you, and don’t let anything let anything get in the way of your success. Tri-M provides you with many opportunities to help out with the music department, so don’t let it go to waste!

Jordan Gamache – Tri-M Treasurer

My name is Jordan Gamache, and I am a senior at Belchertown High School. I have been playing the flute for seven years and have loved every second of it. I have represented Belchertown High School in the Western District orchestra, UMASS Honor Band, the Valley Winds, Belchertown Community Band, and University of New Hampshire’s Johnson Band and Orchestra in their summer music program. In addition to the BHS band and wind ensemble, I also run cross country and track, am the secretary of student council, and work at Pizza Hut. After high school, I plan on going to college for psychology and continuing to foster my love of music by playing in a college marching band and wind ensemble.

Margaret Patel – Tri-M Historian

My name is Margaret Patel, and I am a senior at Belchertown High school.  I am looking to further my studies as a music major.  I play flute and piano in my school band and wind ensemble, and piano in the school jazz band.  I have also been a member of the Belchertown Community Band for seven years, and a member of my church’s music ministry, also for 7 years. I have played flute in the Western District Band and Orchestra, and in the UMASS Honor Band.
