2024 – 2025 Course Selection
ONLINE course selection will begin on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. The online portal will be open until 11:59 pm on Sunday, May 5, 2024. New this year, students are asked to select courses thoughtfully with the understanding that there will be no dropping of courses after Monday, June 24, 2024. The only schedule changes that will be considered after June 24, 2024, are those necessary due to course failures, level misplacement, scheduling conflicts, or cancellation of courses.

Seniors, if you are in need of money for college, remember to keep checking the scholarship list. Many new scholarships have been recently added and more scholarships will become available soon. The scholarship list can be accessed using your school email by clicking on the link below.

The Belchertown Scholarship Fund application is now available. For full information and the application use the links below. The deadline is April 9, 2024, by 4:00 pm. The applicant must be Belchertown resident with acceptances at recognized institutions for post-secondary education for academic year 2025. Criteria includes: financial need, academic grades, character, active community service, and participation in extracurricular activities.

2024 Massachusetts Boys/Girls State
Juniors –
The 2024 session of Massachusetts Boys/Girls State will be held June 15-21 at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts.
Complete information on Boys State can be found here. Complete information on Girls State can be found here. Interested students will participate in a simple selection process to represent Belchertown High School as a Boys/Girls State Delegate or Alternate Delegate.
If you are interested in attending Boys/Girls State, complete the 2024 Massachusetts Boys/Girls State Google Form (link below). The deadline to apply is Friday, April 12, 2024.

Baystate Wing Hospital Student Ambassador – Mini Medical School Summer Program
Baystate Wing Hospital will be offering the Student Ambassador – Mini Medical School Summer Program (July 8-19, 2024) for students sixteen and older who are seriously interested in a healthcare career but are not sure exactly what field they would like to go into. This two-week summer program will help students explore their options.
Only 12 students will be accepted into this program. The application deadline is April 19. Information and applications can be found below or can be picked up in the Counseling Office.

2024 Academy Day
Are you interested in attending the United States Military Academy, the United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, or the United States Merchant Marine Academy? Congressman Richard Neal will be hosting his 2024 Academy Day on Sunday, April 28th, at 12 pm, at the Springfield D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts Davis Auditorium. The United States Coast Guard Academy, Mass Maritime Academy, Norwich University, and ROTC programs will also be represented. If you are interested in attending this event you must pre-register. The Registration Form and other information can be found at the links listed in the Student Memo and on the Counseling Office webpage.
The deadline to register is April 22nd.

Cumulative Folders
The Class of 2023 cumulative folders may be picked up in the Counseling Office from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Cumulative folders contain school records such as report cards, MCAS test results, a copy of the student’s final transcript, and other information. Some cumulative folders even include letters from graduates to themselves which were written back in 6th grade!

College Information Seminar and Financial Aid Night Presentations
FINANCIAL AID NIGHT
Financial Aid Night was held on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the BHS Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium.
A representative from MEFA (Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority) shared information on types & sources of financial aid, the application process, how financial aid decisions are made, paying for college, and free resources. Alumni Transcript Requests
If you are a graduate of BHS/attended BHS and you need a copy of your transcript, you can either email (preferred) the Administrative Assistant at ldrawec@belchertownps.org or call the BHS School Counseling Office at 413-323-9419 Extension 5200.
You must provide your name (clearly spelled), your graduation year or years of attendance, the complete address or an email of where you would like your transcript sent, and a telephone number where you can be reached (in case further information is needed).
Learner's Permit Documents
Documents required by the Registry of Motor Vehicles can be obtained by calling or emailing Ms. Drawec, the Administrative Assistant in the School Counseling Office. She can provide students with the necessary documents that are accepted by the RMV – Official Enrollment Verification Letter and Official Transcript. You may contact Ms. Drawec by phone at 413-323-9419 extension 5200 or by email at ldrawec@belchertownps.org. You will need to provide the student’s name, an email address where these documents can be sent, and a phone number in case there are any questions.
New Student Registration

Work Permits
Work permits are issued in the Superintendent’s Office at the Belchertown Public Schools Central Office, 14 Maple Street, Belchertown. The hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The phone number is 323-0423 extension 100. Please click on the link below for more information. You must have a job prior to obtaining a work permit.
