Learn About Teen Prescription (Rx) Drug Abuse
Did you know that it is estimated that 48,000,000 Americans age 12 years and older have taken prescription medication for “non-medical” reasons?  According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement administration (DEA), every day, on average, 2,500 teens use prescription drugs to get high for the first time; 2 in 5 teens believe that prescription drugs are “much safer” than illicit drugs.  Sixty-three percent of teens believe that prescription drugs are easy to get from friends’ and family’s medicine cabinet.
