To fulfill the goal of environmental education for both the students and community, there will be work on the trail system surrounding the wetlands, including the addition of small signposts, approved by the Belchertown Conservation Commission as part of a self-guided walking trail and the repair/replacement of some footbridges on the trail.
Debris will be removed from the spillway and sluice boards will be constructed to fit the existing structure (all funded by CPA grants).
Future improvements will include the removal of one small building, the Friendship House (also referred to as the iield house, Building #27A).
